Yesterday (May 4, 2022) the third grade class planted everbearing strawberries in the middle garden bed.
The plants came from Stark Brothers. They planted Ozark Beauty and Tristar everbearing varieties - 50 plants in total.
Before planting, the students were treated to a mini botany lesson on strawberries from one of our parent volunteers.
We also planted 4 asparagus plants in the adjacent planter - 2 Purple Passion and 2 Jersey Knight Giant varieties, also from Stark Brothers.
Lots of muddy hands helped with the planting. Thank you third grade!
