On November 8th, the third grade class planted music garlic. Music garlic is a hardy, hardneck variety that likes cold weather - perfect for our garden.
School is back in session and the garden has been a source of interest and snacks for the Lyme School students.
It is late summer in the garden and school is about to start. It's time to check in.
On Saturday, July 2nd 2022, some new plants were added to the garden beds.
As of the beginning of July, the pumpkin seedlings are growing nicely in their bed. The weed barrier seems to be working well.
On June 11th, we finished cleaning up this old garden bed on the hill up to the baseball field. This is one of two beds installed by the Girl Scouts. several years ago. The Girl Scouts started clearing out this bed at the end of May.
On Friday June 10th, the Kindergarten class had the opportunity to taste some of the fruits of their labor.
On Wednesday May 25, the first grade class planted herbs. Now we have lavender (Munstead), sage (Grower's Friend), rosemary (Gorizia), plain Italian parsley, Genovese sweet basil, and chives.
On Friday May 13th, the kindergarten class planted some seeds.
Yesterday (May 4, 2022) the third grade class planted everbearing strawberries in the middle garden bed.
